Habitat: The Galapagos - Ocean
This is the only penguin species found north of the equator and in the Galápagos. The cool waters of the Humboldt and Cromwell Currents allow it to survive despite the tropical latitude. Penguins are threatened by pollution, bycatch and climate change
Classified as Endangered on the IUCN Red list for threatened species.
